Disowned and desperate, Rachel Dubois has but two days to get a stolen, politically sensitive English document to the French spy who holds her beloved spaniel as collateral.  When her carriage overturns enroute from London to Dover, she gives little thought to her handsome rescuer other than continuing her frantic journey on his horse—without him.  But he’s found her, and now he won’t let her out of his sight.  Rachel is no fool.  She’ll use him to get her money, save her dog, and buy back her family estate.  After all, a man is only good for protection, right?

Bounty hunter Colton Grey was hired to catch and kill a document thief.  Sidelined by the infuriating beauty who stole his horse, he decides to use her to his advantage:  concealment of his mission.  He’ll recover the document, dispose of the thief and earn a rich payment—enough to buy the grand estate for sale.
